Public Events
Across
the region there are an enormous number of events held each week, throughout
the entire year. With 16 municipalities in The Algarve each publishes its list
of events. We bring them all together in one place for you to check regularly
and plan your visit.
Towns
From Aljezur and Sagres in the west across to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Alcoutim in the east close to the Spanish Border, the Algarve is full of fascinating towns to visit, rich in history, culture and architecture. We explore each town and what is nearby.
Beaches
The Algarve is simply full of beaches. With more than 150 individually named beaches, there are simply too many to name. Many where the sand just goes on and on for many kilometres, some with fantastic cliffs as a backdrop, and some intimate small coves. We show you our favourites.
Art Galleries
Art Galleries are not straightforward to find but they exist. The Algarve also has some very good artists, some with studios that you can visit. There are galleries in or close to most major towns, click through to see where they are. More information...
Tours
Here we present the best and most exclusive tours available in the region. We have met all of the business owners and discussed the content of your visit. We can also adapt and enhance your visit if you wish. We believe we have the best experiences available.
Football
The Estádio Algarve is located to the west of Faro. Built for the 2004 European Championships it mainly hosts international football matches. It is also the home of the Gibraltar international team. We publish all of the future planned matches.
Waterparks
Aquashow in Quarteira, Aquapark outside of Albufeira and Slide and Splash in Lagoa are the three main waterparks in the region. Click through to get more information on each, including how to get there and ticket details. More information...
Zoos
The Algarve has three zoos, each one is completely different. Lagos Zoo is the only typical zoo. Zoomarine is a theme park primarily aimed at marine life, including dolphins and seals. Krazy World, close to Silves, is a great family day out with animals, swimming pools and more. More information...
Shopping Centres
The main shopping centres in the Algarve are at the Forum in Faro, Algarve Shopping in Guia, and the Aqua Shopping/Retail centres in Portimao. As we write the biggest shopping centre in the entire region is currently being built east of Loule. The building should complete during 2017, with the first shops opening in the Spring.
Supermarkets
There are many supermarket chains here. Apolonia, Continente, Pingo Doce and Jumbo to name a few. Some also do food delivery. Apolonia caters more for the international visitor, with staff speaking English. Their website is also in English.
Emergency Doctor / Hospital
There are plenty of private GP's, dentists etc. available here for consultations. Should you require a referral, there are private clinics and hospitals here we can assist you with.
