Day 1

Airport Pick Up + Hotel Check In

Welcome to the special city of Salamanca.

Today, you will check-in at the 4* Vincci Ciudad De Salamanca Hotel, located right in the heart of the city, where you will be stay for the next 4 nights.

As you will discover, Salamanca is a magical city located in the northwest of Spain. It’s famous for its sandstone buildings, which seem to change colours as the day goes on. In the morning they’re white, in the afternoon they turn pink and when night comes, the lights make them yellow. This daily transformation has earned it the nickname of “La Dorada” aka Golden City.

This city offers a faithful representation of the varied products that are typical of Castilian cuisine. Located in the interior of the peninsula, with a cold and dry climate, its gastronomy stands out for the excellent meats, either roasted, stewed or sausages. So, having this in mind we have decided to choose a couple of city tour experiences that could bring these characteristics directly to you.

Day 2

City Tour of Salamanca

In order to start your holiday break in Salamanca, we will start your experience with a full private tour of the town. There's so much to visit in Salamanca, that before we start your gastronomic experience, we think it's important to show you more of the old cathedrals and what makes this town, the Golden City of Spain. Our meeting point will be at Plaza Mayor. After getting to know the history of this emblematic place, we will cross the porches to reach Clerécia, the old headquarters of the Society of Jesus. Did you know that it was built in the 12th century?

Passing by Casa de las Conchas, in our humble opinion, one of the most important palaces in the City of Salamanca, we will stop in front of the Charra Filigree Museum. We will stroll along La Latina street and Libreros street and, among the oldest buildings, we will reach the Cathedrals. Your introduction to the New Cathedral and the Old Cathedral will allow you to discover the historic and artistic heritage of Salamanca. In total, we have completed a 3 hour tour around the city discovering what surely makes Salamanca the Spanish gem it is.

Day 3

Your Unique Tapas Private Tour: Gastronomic Journey Begins

Today starts your gastronomic tasting experience relished with Spanish traditional food, tapas and wine.

As we all know, Tapas - is the Spanish way of combining the art of eating, drinking & socializing all at once. Among these delicious Tapas, we recommend that you don't miss the special "Tortilla" combined with the local "Iberian Ham", the delicious rustic handmade sausage "Farinato" and obviously, combined with the very own local delicacy of Spanish Wine.

During this tour, you'll experience a historic Centre Tour taking you to the fascinating areas of Salamanca - joined with a relaxing pause and little bit along the way too. The main places we will be visiting are the Main Square, Casa Conchas, Clerecía, University, and more, which have not been seen from your previous private tour.

Day 4

Special Tour Outside Salamanca - at Lisardo Castro for Iberian Ham Tastings

Surely you've heard about Iberian Ham before. Well, it's our pleasure to show you how the city of Salamanca is especially known for it's Iberian Products. From the factories, passing by the drying rooms and cellars all to learn and know how the exquisite Iberian Products are taken care of and how they develop in the well-known "Guijuelo" name.

We will take you to discover all about the production of Lisardo Castro's gastronomic delicacies which has more than 70 years of experience in the Iberian Sausage production.

During these two hours of touring, we will demonstrate the importance behind all elements that Spanish locals believe to be important when dealing with Iberian Ham, including the techniques behind the Slicing, Tasting and Preservation of Iberian Ham. Also, of equal importance are the three premises essential for when choosing good Iberian Ham - the fragrant Aroma, the Texture and the Salt Point.

As expected, by the end of your touring session you will have the pleasure of tasting all these delicacies from this wonderful province of Salamanca, with the perfect match of a local glass of red wine.

Departure
